To resolve the issue, click on another tab along the top of the portal, the Workspace tab for example, and then click back to your original tab.

The issue should now be resolved.

If you have to use Internet Explorer 6, or some other web browser that is not listed on the browser support page, you might try one of these 3 options:

• Upgrade to either Internet Explorer 7 or 8
  • Download Internet Explorer 7
  • Download Internet Explorer 8
• Install FireFox 3.0 web browser (http://getfirefox.com)
• Log into each service separately using your myUSI username and password (bypassing the myUSI portal) by using the myUSI Start page available at http://www.usi.edu/start

If none of these resolve your situation, call the myUSI Helpdesk at 812.465.1070 at once.

Just log in to whichever service you need and it will open in a separate window or web browser tab.

1. Login to myUSI (my.usi.edu)

2. Click the myUSI Mail Icon

3. In myUSI Mail, click the Address Book button (lower left)

4. Click the Import/Export button across the Address Book toolbar

5. Choose Import

6. In the Import Contacts to Address Book window that pops up, click the browse button
and browse to the address book you previously exported from the old myUSI (CPAddressBook.csv) and click Open

7. In the Import Contacts to Address Book window, click the File Format drop down box and
choose Microsoft Outlook CSV

8. Click Import Contacts.

9. Depending on how many contacts that need to be imported, there may be a few minute wait

10. The Import Contacts to Address Book window will change to tell how many contacts were
imported, click the OK button

11. Now all your contacts were imported

So, Archibald Eagle’s username on the old myUSI was aeagle, so his new email address is:

aeagle @mail.usi.edu

Luckily, it also is format compatible with the new myUSI Calendar application.

If you would like to move your Calendar information from the old myUSI to the new myUSI, here are the steps:

1. Login to the old myUSI by going to www.usieagles.org before May 22, 2009.

2. From the main myUSI page, click the Calendar icon in the upper right corner of the myUSI page.

3. From the main Calendar window, click the Options tab.

4. Then click the Export link in the left hand grey Calendar Options sidebar.

5. Choose the calendar(s) that you would like to export from the Calendars list and click the Add>>  button to move them to the Calendars to Export list.

6. Choose either to Export all events or set a Beginning and Ending date range to export into the iCal file.

7. Select iCal for the Export Format and click the Export button.

8. When the Save Dialog window comes up for your particular browser, choose where to put the export.ics file for safe keeping.

Later we will have instructions for importing an iCal file into the new myUSI Calendar application.

To be clear, any request for passwords, usernames, or sensitive personal information should be treated as a scam.

The myUSI support team will never ask for usernames, passwords, or sensitive personal information by email.

If receive these types of requests from seemingly trusted sources, do not respond to them. If you are concerned about them, and want to verify that they are indeed scams, you can contact the myUSI support team by email at myusi@usi.edu or by phone at 812.465.1070.

If you don’t know it, you will need to sign into the current myUSI website (www.usieagles.org) and find it before the transition to the new myUSI come Summer I, 2009.

This guide will walk you through finding your original PIN number.

UPDATED INFORMATION:

As we have changed the name of the server that provides Self Service functionality in order to better integrate with the new portal, you will need to follow some additional steps for this guide to work.

If you are using Internet Explorer, you’ll need to enable Show Blocked Content in the yellow drop down warning strip that appears just below the browser address bar after clicking on the Personal Information link in the steps below. Then click the Personal Information link again to continue.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, click on the Or you can add an exception link… at the bottom of the security warning. Then click the Add Exception… button. In the Add Security Exception window, click the Get Certificate button and then the Confirm Security Exception Button. Then everything should work as expected.

Login to the current myUSI site (www.usieagles.org)

Click on the Self Service tab.

Click on the Personal Information link

Scroll down and click on the View Original PIN link

You should be able to view your original PIN. This will be your initial password for the new myUSI so make sure to have a copy of it before the new myUSI goes live on May 11, 2009.

When you are done, make sure to click the logout button and close all your browser windows.
