There is no guarantee that you will receive a read receipt for each request that you make. When the receiver of a message that you have tagged with such a request opens your message, they will receive a pop-up message asking:

The sender requested that a receipt to be returned. Do you wish to send one? Cancel OK

If they choose Cancel, then no receipt will be sent.

If they choose OK, you will receive an email in your myUSI INBOX with a subject line similar to:

Return Receipt (displayed) - YOUR_ORIGINAL_MESSAGE’S_SUBJECT

You will be able to read the contents of that email message just as you would any other.
